World Class Thai food on your door
David Thompson has opened a Sydney restaurant more than two decades after his last stint at Sailors (1995). Since then he has acquired a Michelin star (Nahm, London) and been awarded #1 Asia restaurant (Nahm, Bangkok) and featured on the World's Best Restaurants list year in year out.

His newest venture is Long Chim situated at 14 Martin Place (access via Angel Place) where he will be stir frying up Thai cuisine for Sydneysiders.

Inspired by Thai street food, this hole in the wall location is a polished concrete jungle with minimal furnishings, open kitchen, smoky atmosphere and all the effort in the diverse menu.

The menu has a broad selection of snacks, noodles, laksa, stir fry, salads and curries, so there should never be an issue with finding something to enjoy.

My favourite dishes were the charred noodles with chicken, squid, dried prawns and egg which was mild and delicious.

Another hot and spicy dish was the baby squid with chillies, green peppercorns and holy basil. It was one of the hotter dishes (the chef loves his Thai spice), so if you cannot handle chilli, you might want to avoid this one. However if you LOVE spice, go forth and conquer!

Long Chim has been a long awaited addition to the foodie scene in Sydney. The food is terrific, the staff are friendly and much more is expected to come as Long Chim establishes itself as a must dine destination.
