Lollipops Playland & Cafe - Springfield

It's raining outside, the kids are driving you crazy with their pent up energy and you are tearing your hair out! What to do? Well, I can tell you what I did to resolve these issues - Lollipops Playland at Springfield.

As a mum to 2 young children, we have spent a bit of time in various play centres and this venue rates quite highly in my book. The staff are courteous, helpful and approachable which is always lovely and equals great service.

It is quite a large area with ample seating and a cafe which has a reasonably priced menu. Entry prices are also on par with most other play centres, although adults do pay to enter ($3.50) but keep in mind you will receive a free drink voucher.

The play areas are quite vast and there is certainly plenty here to keep them active for hours. This includes a jumping castle, ball pit & 3 slides and much more.

Another plus is the baby/toddler play area is at the opposite end to the older group, so no danger of the littlies being trampled on by accident.

Now, I've saved the best for last - the Tea Cup Ride. All the kids were lining up for this. The staff were fantastic in ensuring that it was open every 30-40 minutes and every child who wanted a ride had their turn. There were a lot of happy, smiling faces. My children were there for approximately 2 hours and had 3 turns.

If you have a chance to go I thoroughly recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend this play centre. Our then 3 and half year old son attended a birthday party there. We had to leave the party before they even served the cake. He unfortunately broke his right leg - yes broke - his leg in 2 places from going down the blown up slippery slide. He was in agony and spent 2 nights in our local hospital. The centre wouldn't even allow us to view their CCTV so we could inform the children's orthopaedic surgeon how he landed or was he pushed?? All the sympathy we got in end was some free vouchers for him to return there. My advice is proceed with caution entering play centres as unfortunately accidents do occur when lots of children play, even when you think it's safe then a public park!!
