While in the city, I have often walked past Lola's, but I've never had time to stop and go in. I've also noticed their sandwich board with their Happy Hour pizza deal ($10 woodfire pizza between 4pm and 6pm) with interest.
Recently when a friend wanted to go for a drink after work and being a bit hungry, I remembered Lola's deal and suggested we go there. Lola's has a lovely outdoor setting area, a few bar-style chairs and tables as well as some cosy booths. As there was much to catch up on, I suggested the comfy booths.
With our seats decided, the next important decision was what pizza to eat! There were 10 different pizzas on the menu including a pork belly pizza, a pork mince and jalapeņo one, a ricotta and mushroom amongst some of the more traditional one. Ultimately I decided on the goat's cheese, rosemary, caramelised onion and honey one!
I was really happy with my choice and I thought all the ingredients worked really well together. It also reminded me that simple ingredients used with care can have amazing results! Although I did wish I had shared my pizza with my friend as it was so much bigger and filling that I had anticipated.
