A fun way to spend an evening while learning something new
Imagine yourself sitting alone at a party, watching as everyone else dances the night away. It doesn't have to be that way. Sydney has a huge number of dance schools. For those living in the Eastern Suburbs, Logan Dance Company is a fantastic choice. It offers a variety of styles including Salsa, Latin American, Ballroom, Hip Hop and even Zumba Fitness.

Whether you are a Salsa Pro or a beginner with two left feet, Logan Dance Company has something for everyone, kids and adults alike. Run by Ian Hunter, this dance studio is conveniently located on Alison Road in Randwick. A great plus is that you don't have to buy a certain number of classes together or enrol yourself in a course. You are welcome to pay per class.

On a cold Thursday evening, my husband and I attended our very first dance class at Logan Dance School. We chose to attend the Adult Latin American Beginners class. We rocked up a couple of minutes early and were lucky enough to watch the Intermediate class in session. We were amazed at the speed and grace with which the dancers were performing. Our class started soon after and we were a group of 10.

Ian Hunter started the class with some basic steps in Cha Cha Cha. He was very fun with a sharp sense of humour and the whole class atmosphere was very light and relaxed. After every few minutes we would change partners. I found this system quite nice as one got the chance to dance with other partners (including the teacher) and meet some interesting people. This was especially beneficial for those who had come alone. Ian first taught the steps without music and then when the class felt comfortable, put on some music. After the Cha Cha we moved onto Samba and ended with Jive.

My husband and I had a fantastic time. We learned something new which we could enjoy together. Another great plus is that the studio lets you have your first group class absolutely free. So if you live in the Eastern Suburbs, definitely give Logan's Dance School a try. You have absolutely nothing to lose.
