Need to travel to Sydney? Whether you're going for work or play, you'll need accommodation. Undoubtedly there are many deals at the moment given that we are in the off-peak season. There are many great last minute discounted hotel sites you can go to for some inspiration on this. Or, if you're bargain hunting, Maz Serena Rockers' article; 'What are Sydney's Best Cheap Hotels?' can give you some more insightful tips.

If you're a little unsure about which suburb to settle into then setting a boundary where you travel say no more than twenty minutes walking distance to Market Street will make your decision a lot easier. Note that unlike Melbourne, Sydney's public transport system doesn't run on timed tickets; but rather you pay according to where you want to travel - so some planning is well advised.

I decided to check out available accommodation in the Sydney area through Airbnb. It works better than Gumtree because you are assured of a greater level of security and it also works on a referral system, and you can choose to filter exactly what you want. It's well worth a look.

I discovered this little Parisian Paradise in Pyrmont. It's located at 301/380 Harris St and is only a twenty minute walk to the CBD. You can, of course choose to take public transport to the city; however, it's a lovely walk and a chance to take in the sights.

The owner; Edouard Hsu has created an exquisite penthouse-style room, designed for your utmost comfort at only a fraction of what you would pay in a hotel. Here are the benefits for $105 per night:

Check-in and check-out flexibility, breakfast menu available, desk in the room, advice on what to do in Sydney, elegant environment with a Parisian feel, access to the kitchen, walking distance to public transport and styling advice

Delicious breakfast menu:

Fruit Juice ( Apple / Orange / Mixed Fruits )
Cereal ( with Skim or Regular Milk )
Fresh seasonal fruits
Natural Yoghurt
Main / Cooked
Creamy oat porridge with brown sugar or honey
Full English Breakfast: Eggs ( Fried/Poached/Boiled ), Bacon, Sausages,
Grilled Tomatoes and Mushrooms.
Hot Pancakes with Maple syrup
Coffee: Espresso / Long Black (with Skim or Regular Milk and brown sugar )
Tea: English Breakfast Tea / Earl Grey / Herbal Tea
Bread: White / Brown / Whole Grains - Toasted or un-toasted

Edouard's extensive experience in personal styling is also complimentary as part of the service. He can help you discover the best style for your shape regardless as to whether you are male or female; as well as tips on the best places to buy clothes in Sydney. Irresistible.

Edouard has certainly positioned himself well in the market place. His warm disposition and helpful demeanour can only serve travellers to enjoy their stay even more. I felt immediately at home and relaxed. There is a definite theme with flavours of French style everywhere from cuisine to furniture to art. I also had the added bonus of practising my French.

All in all, I highly recommend at least a nights' stay in this Parisian paradise. For me, it's the way to go. I mean, consider spending double or more for the same style room in a hotel. You still have to mix with hotel staff. Here it's more personal and you get to make friends too. I also discovered a little more about Pyrmont and with the money saved, I can choose to spend on other fun things to do in Sydney.

Sounds a great idea and Pyrmont is a great little place to explore in its own right.
