I'm a mother of four with two coeliac children. I'm always on the lookout for great gluten-free spots around Brisbane and feature gluten-free cooking in my blog: coeliacfamily.blogspot.com.au
I'm also a muso and enjoy live music around town.

Celebrating diversity is the theme for this free day of entertainment, with Music, Drumming, Kids' Craft, Circus and a Jumping Castle amongst the activities on offer. Beginning at 10am, visitors to the Gatton Showgrounds will be able to participate in workshops, see demonstrations, enjoy the entertainment and sample reasonably priced foods from other cultures as they meander between the market stalls.

The Multicultural Festival will run from 10am until 4pm, and the 70 minute drive to Gatton is a great day trip for Brisbane residents. Children will be able to observe crops growing (a great opportunity to point out where the food on their table comes from) and see farm animals whilst on the drive. The trip is also scenic, taking in the Little Liverpool Range, Toowoomba Range, One Tree Hill and on a clear day you may even catch glimpses of Cunningham's Gap. Pit stops along the way include numerous fruit and vegetable barns, historic country towns and antique stores. There is plenty to keep the family entertained along the way without the help of games and movies, so why not make a trip out to Gatton this weekend and help celebrate Harmony Day.
