Located in the heart of Adelaide's western suburbs, Lockleys Hotel is a great place to eat pub food in a comfortable setting. During our visit, we ordered the Chicken Breast Schnitzel, Fish & Chips and Vegetarian Burger.
As expected, their Chicken Breast Schnitzel was fried to golden brown with the crisp coating contrasting wonderfully with the meat. The chips that accompanied the schnitzel were also cooked just right with the right amount of seasoning. However we thought the pepper sauce could have used a bit more peppery flavour to make it more delicious. Other choices for the sauce include mushroom, Dianne, gravy and hollandaise.

A great choice for vegetarians, the Vegetarian Burger consists of a panko-crumbed mushroom with feta, beetroot, lettuce, tomato and truffle mayonnaise. The crumbed mushroom was juicy with the other fillings complementing it nicely. The soft bun helped to tie all the ingredients together.

The fish fillets in the Fish & Chips were cooked to perfection with the serving of chips done as well as the ones that accompanied the Chicken Schnitzel and Vegetarian Burger. It is also served with a lemon 'cheek' that can be squeezed over the fish and tartare sauce to dip the fish in.
The hotel also offers a few specials and events, such as Trivia and Taco night on Thursdays from 7pm and all-day Chicken Schnitzel & Pint for $20. Ambience was very good with your choice of seating in a bar setting or a slightly more upmarket restaurant like area with plenty of off-street parking available in the carpark at the back of the hotel.
