The Campbelltown Historical Society invites you to Lochend House open day on Sunday, 7th August 2022 from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Lochend House was built for Charles Campbell, a Scottish migrant who came to South Australia in 1838. In 1842 he built Lochend as his townhouse. The house was built of river stone and included a stucco porch, hall and living room with a finely moulded ceiling. The roof was of wooden shingles and it has three bedrooms and a cellar.
Today, the house is owned in trust by the City of Campbelltown as a place of State Heritage significance. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, the home has been redecorated internally to represent a rural 1850 house.
So come along to visit this beautiful historic house. Entry is by gold coin donation. Afternoon tea will be available for purchase.
Lochend House is located at Lochend Drive, Campbelltown. For more information on the event, see the City of Campbelltown
website.
