Local Tastes is a brand new agricultural business networking event proudly presented by the Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT).

This exciting event will be held on Friday, 21st October 2016 at Sandstone Point Hotel, from 10.30am to 4.00pm and celebrate the very best produce from the Moreton Bay Region.

One particular highlight of Local Tastes is a masterclass with MasterChef Australia 2015 runner-up, Georgia Barnes.

Since gracing our screens on MasterChef, Georgia Barnes has not looked back, and knows personally the quality of produce from the Moreton Bay Region.

"To be involved in an event such as Local Tastes is a complete honour," said Georgia. "The Moreton Bay Region is home for me and I'm incredibly passionate about supporting our community, local farmers and producers."

Local Tastes will also feature a tasting fair, wine tasting, two-course lunch, live entertainment and a series of masterclasses from local experts.

MBRIT CEO, Mr Shane Newcombe, believes an event like Local Tastes is well overdue.

"We've got incredible local producers and suppliers based in the Moreton Bay Region," said Mr Newcombe. "Local Tastes provides a platform for local suppliers to present masterclass sessions in their field of expertise, and share their secrets behind yielding the best from food."

The food expo will conclude with an exclusive business networking event held in the Sandstone Point Hotel Waterview Bar.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said Local Tastes will showcase some of the region's finest artisanal foods and dishes, and the local pioneers championing them.

"The Moreton Bay Region's famous waters and diverse environment means fresh, local produce is plentiful, and Local Tastes gives you the best seat in the house to experience the boutique foods and rustic dishes that are coming out of our very own acclaimed restaurants and cafes," Mayor Sutherland said.

With local expert chefs, farmers and winemakers all sharing their tricks of the trade at Local Tastes, this event is sure to sell out.

Tickets for Local Tastes are $79.00 for MBRIT Members and $99.00 for Non-MBRIT Members and include tasting fair, two course lunch, beverages and entertainment. To book you tickets please contact
