The provide food and household items to people who are on a pension, low income, in need or crisis. To be eligible to shop at the food-store you need to apply to become a member. It is free to join and all you have to do is visit the store during opening hours (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 9.30am – 12pm & 2- 4.30pm, Friday 9.30am-12pm, closed on Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday) and enquire at the front counter.
Applying to become a member is a simple process and after your membership application has been accepted you can purchase fresh food and household items for a very low membership fee. The fantastic bargains available for all members include all the fruit and veggies you would like for only $2 and bread for $1. The Loaves and Fishes Foodstore believe in keeping food staples as cheap as possible for all members and luxury items cost a little bit extra, however they are affordable. The cost of grocery items are approximately one third of the price you would pay in the supermarket and you can fill a normal sized shopping trolley for only $80-$100.
The also provide you with an in-store Op shop selling clothes, accessories and furniture. Other services for members include a bus pickup/drop off service, online shopping, lifeskills & financial counselling, workshed (skills development) and a fishing club.
The Foodstore is also looking for volunteers and donations such as food, clothing or household items, if you can assist in any of these areas please visit the at 3/47 Lawson Crescent, Coffs Harbour NSW.
