The good folk at the Lloyd Street Primary School are once again gearing up for their major fundraising event. The October fair is being held on Saturday 22nd October 2016, and as it is only featured once every two years, this is one school fete you do not want to miss.
Highly regarded by the fete loving community at large; expect over forty stalls offering all the traditional fare. There'll be treats and treasures, games, rides, silent auction, market stalls and food and more. Quite literally something everyone in the family will enjoy.
The Lloyd Street community have been busy rallying and collecting a wide and diverse range of exciting items for their Silent Auction Hampers. This year's themes will include a hamper for girls and a hamper for boys – in age specific categories, a gourmet foodies hamper, picnic hamper, chocolate lovers, Christmas, It's All About Tea, Coffee Time, Master Chef, Garden Lovers, Mum's Pamper Hamper, Dad's Man Cave, Girls Night In and more. Other Silent Auction items will include shopping trips and gift vouchers. Enjoy a good meal, an experience – like a trip to Inflatable World, or treat someone to something nice.
Previous fairs have included a wild selection of rides, including a giant slide and this year is set to feature the same with the thrill seekers rush, 'Cyclone!' already announced as a top attraction. All day ride wristbands will be available to keep adrenaline junkies on a high for hours. Games like lucky bottles, as well as show bags, lolly stall and raffle are all expected to make an appearance this year, too.
As any good fair must, there will be a Trash'n'Treasure stall – and you never know what you'll find. Vintage clothing and second-hand books are also popular sections, along with plenty of arts and crafts and more.
Those who are handy in the kitchen are busy whipping up batches of delicious jam, chutney and preserves to be sold along the always-sold-out array of cakes and slices. Expect a gourmet food selection to take home or sit down for a touch of Devonshire Tea and a cup of coffee while you are there and simply enjoy the atmosphere.
Then there's the food, always a must. You can enjoy both lunch and dinner courtesy of the food stalls at the Lloyd Street Primary School Fair. Why not try a slice of Firestone pizza or something hot and tasty from the BBQ grill?
For those in the know, Jim Russell from Little Acorns has been engaged to act as MC for the Talent Show, plus there will be loads of live entertainment for your viewing pleasure including Melbourne band, Humble Mischief.
