Livvi's Place is a good sized playground catering to a wide range of ages and abilities.
It features accessible structures, sensory play spaces and equipment which allow for physical disabilities, vision, hearing and mobility impairments and autism spectrum disorders and was the first of its kind in Perth when the park opened in 2015.
Firstly, it is fully enclosed with multiple magna latch gate entrances, giving peace of mind to all guardians and parents. This is a massive plus for many parents and care providers.
The two cubby houses, one at either end of the park, will provide imaginary play with no limits and the path around the whole park lends itself well to bikes, scooters and wheelchairs.
The sand play area includes a digger, sand table and chairs and a mechanical filling apparatus. This large area is completely covered in sand whereas other areas are covered with either bark chippings or the colourful spongy rubber material.
There is also wet sand play with shape moulders and a water pump and trough (although the water pump wasn't working on the day we visited).
In the middle of the park is a raised circular area with steps leading to it, a tree in the middle with a path around the tree. Two of the slides come off this area and access is also via a low-level climbing net.
There are traditional swings plus a birds nest swing.
Plus a fab zip wire with a chair seat (with strap fasteners) so all abilities can ride. The incline to the back of the zip wire start is steady so wheelchairs can be taken to the chair seat.
The main climbing frame is littered with slides, rope bridges, climbing nets etc.
There is a big grassed area outside the enclosed park, the toilets are located here, where there is plenty of room to picnic and kick a ball around.
The giant games sensory area focuses on sound and touch with a giant musical instrument to wake you up.
Toddlers fair well throughout this park with low-level apparatus, small rockers and a low-level swing.
Facilities continue with bins dotted around the park, benches and seating scattered around, plus a covered seating area with BBQ's. There is limited shade in the park and limited street parking.
No dogs are allowed in the enclosed section of the park.
