Make-up, lights, camera and feeling a little pampered are all part of a photo studio experience. Be it the lighting, or the fan blowing wind into the hair or just being clicked so many times like it's the paparazzi, it's always an exciting experience. And the outcome usually lifts my spirits. My husband and I signed up for an outdoor shoot a few years ago and although I was incredibly nervous initially, I slowly eased into the situation & enjoyed the experience. Needless to say, the photographs were simply spectacular, better than the ones we'd ever had. The result:- it promptly occupied a prominent spot on the wall.
The urge for another photo experience arose (viz. 5 year wedding anniversary) and this time we signed up for an studio photo shoot with at Crows Nest and were not the least disappointed.
Although we were a little nervous before we got there, simply because it was only the 2nd time we were in a shoot and the 1st time it was in a studio environment, we felt at ease just as soon we began interacting with the team at Living Image.
We met Simon Carroll who is the Owner & Photographer at Living Image and he has a great knack to put you completely at ease from the second you meet him. Amy, the studio manager is an absolute delight and very amicable. Interacting with her while making the booking & viewing the pictures after the shoot was simply a pleasure.
We carried a few outfits to change into (on the advise of the team) a mix of both casual & formal outfits. Simon and Amy took keen interest in viewing what we had brought and advising us on which ones to pick for the shoot and what colour combinations would work well with the images.
I was then treated with a hair and make-up session with Pearl. Pearl is simply fantastic in what she does. There is no doubt she knows what the camera will see and will ensure that her job is perfect.
We started off the shoot with the casual outfit for some fun shots. It just got us into the pace and we were having a ball in a few minutes of running into each others arms and jumping onto each other.
We got changed into the other outfits and Simon was bursting with different ideas on how he wanted us to pose. For about an hour my husband and I felt like the most photographed people around town, literally.
We also had a viewing session a couple of hours later where we could view the best shots of the day and understand the options we had. Viewing the pictures on the same day as the shoot makes a big difference. Kudos to the team who work on such tight deadlines and make it all happen in a day. The team at living image also took keen interest in understanding what we were after and ensuring the end product meets our requirement while also showing us other options that we may be interested in.
The photo shoot package includes hair & make-up, a photography session (indoor or outdoor depending on the event), a photography viewing session.
Post the viewing session, the customer can choose what they would like to purchase and place an order. Although I must admit, it is really hard to choose because we seemed to like absolutely everything we saw.
The studio has some great display pictures and some of our top favourites were the pregnancy portraits and the pet portraits. There are multiple options for photo designs and finishes and the team there will be happy to discuss your needs and make suggestions that suit your requirement. Check out their gallery
