May is an exciting month for free events in Liverpool, with the start of the Liverpool LIVE program. Liverpool City Council has put together a really great range of open air events that can be enjoyed by all.


A lot of us spend too much time on our devices - not only because that is where trend and technology is taking us - but also because it is often cheaper to stay home. However, a well-planned month of events like this is of wonderful benefit for getting members of the community out and about.

Liverpool LIVE is comprised of three types of free events: band performances, movie screenings and supervised children's activities - all to be held within the Macquarie Mall.


The Liverpool LIVE schedule of events is as follows:

Children's Activities
Fridays & Saturdays 1pm - 5pm

The children's activities will be based at the Elizabeth Street end of Macquarie Mall. This will include face painting and story time along with other activities.

Free Band Performances
Friday Nights 4pm - 8pm

Three groups will perform over 4 nights of free live musical entertainment.

8 May – Gang of Brothers
15 May – Jeremy Gregory Band
22 May – Borneo and Friends
29 May – Gang of Brothers


Open-Air Movie Screenings
Saturday Nights 6pm

Macquarie Mall will be the venue for the Saturday night free movie screenings of a number of popular animated children's movies. Bring along cushions and mats to stay comfy.

9 May – Shrek
16 May – Happy Feet
22 May – Madagascar
30 May – Frozen

Head over to Liverpool for one of these free events - or attend them all! A great opportunity for the community to get out in the afternoons and evenings for family-friendly entertainment.
