Get paid to eat out & a $10 credit for WeekendNotes readers
It's been a while since we've talked about Liven here on WeekendNotes. Three years in fact.
Liven is a free smart phone app that offers users discounts on restaurants, cafes, bars, car parks and activities all over the Melbourne, Sydney and beyond.
Since we last talked about Liven on WeekendNotes, the app has grown to have more than 125,000 users between Melbourne and Sydney and has welcomed more than 500 restaurant partners.
As a Liven app user, you have the option of taking advantage of the app's discount offers at some of your favourite local dining venues.
A new service just launched by Liven is a cash back service, whereby users have the option to pay for their restaurant bill through the app and earn cash back rewards for doing so. Yes that's right, get cash rewards to eat out!
This new reward service applies to high-quality eateries, which gives you the option of getting money back, without feeling like you're asking for a discount in the restaurant.
Each time you use the app on your phone, you will be earning some more Livencash to be spent next time. That said, you don't have to use your cash credits when you next dine out, you can save it and use your Livencash when you want to. Alternatively, you have the option of donating 100% of your reward to a charity at the end of your meal.
Hearing about Liven's new service, my family and I set out on a cool, wintery Friday evening in Melbourne and chose to dine out at Bluetrain. This is the first time we've used Liven's new service and the first time we've chosen to eat at Bluetrain, which I am told is a popular venue for Liven customers.
Bluetrain is a great find! The views over the Yarra River are magnificent and there's a children's menu. Mr.8 exclaimed it was his new favourite place to eat as he finished everything on his plate (hot dog and chips!). Mr.3 enjoyed watching the trains slowly saunter in and out of Flinders Street station on the other side of the river.
Although a couple of the wait staff at Bluetrain didn't quite know how to process the payment (only because the service is so new) one staff member understood the process and payment went through without a hitch. There's a little more explanation as to how the system works here. Now we have Livencash to use next time!
Note that the Liven app is a completely free service. There used to be a subscription based "premium" service, but this has since been scrapped. As such, you've got no reason not to try out the Liven app for yourselves.
Download the app, search for a nearby participating Liven restaurant or venue, try the service and earn yourselves some Livencash.
If you are interested in trying out the new system, Liven is pleased to offer all WeekendNotes users a $10 credit to visit one of the Livenpay venues. Simply download the app and create your free account:
