Melbourne is renown for its thriving live music scene - we have The Espy, The Evelyn, Corner Hotel Bandroom, Palace Theatre, The Hi-Fi Bar and many more great live music venues - but what if you want to dine and indulge in some live music at the same time? Well, that can be done too.

Some Melbourne live music restaurant highlights include Los Amates Mexican Kitchen, where Mexican and Latin American music is performed by bands and solo artists on Thursday nights and at Los Amates special events, such as Mexican Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo and Day of the Dead.

Lentil As Anything is also a great live music venue and like their changing menus, you will find a range of music genres on offer as well. The gigs are usually held outside of the eatery and there are special events held throughout the year. Head to the official website to see upcoming live music events.

Choo Choo's at The Toff In Town is a great venue for lovers of Thai cuisine and live music. Quite a few notable artists have performed here - Katie Noonan, Lisa Mitchell, Pete Murray, Paul Kelly and the now disbanded Yves Klein Blue. You can view the upcoming shows here.

The above are just a few suggestions - there are of course many, many more live music restaurant establishments in Melbourne. Let us know your favourite - we are all ears!

If you are more 'mature' (not old), you will love the Caravan Music Club at the Oakleigh RSL. they also have a sister venue in Elsternwick (Flying Saucer Club) and another venue in St Kilda (haven't been there). Atmosphere and acoustics are great in Oakleigh, just love going there, have seen Daryl Braithwaite, Russell Morris and Jon Stevens to mention a few.
