The Lido Cafe/Restaurant, 120 Racecourse Road, is a lively, cosy Art Deco restaurant, serving a range of interesting dishes. A varied programme of live jazz from talented Brisbane musicians on Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays adds warmth and colour to the relaxed ambience. On First Friday of each month see Carole Marco (vocals) and Rick Best (keys) perform smooth jazz standards and other great tunes - next one is 4th May.www.facebook.com/loveLido,
Just noticed this, better late than never. As a musician I play at two venues which should definitely be on your list.
Garuva Hidden Tranquility Restaurant in Brunswick St is like nowhere else. Not even a sign out the front, just a black door. They obviously rely on word of mouth, but always busy.
Jazz Cat Restaurant in Paddington. Nice little venue with a grand piano, and live music on weekends.
I'm sure I can suggest more if you're still interested. firstname.lastname@example.org (Richard)
