At WeekendNotes, we have reviewed quite a few live music venues; St Bernards Hotel, The Music Kafe, The Junk Bar, The Joynt Restaurant & Bar, Black Bear Lodge and Alhambra Lounge - but now, with your help, we would like to create a listing of the very best live music bars, cafes and restaurants.

Lock 'n' Load regularly hosts gigs, as does Bitter Suite and Malt wine bar. For more of a restaurant/live music experience, head to Villa Maria on Saturdays nights or Restaurant Lurleen's for a special dinner and live show. Vinyl @ The Hi-Fi and Ahmet's on Oxford are also worth a mention (the latter for the belly dancing show).

The above are just a few suggestions - there are of course many, many more live music restaurant establishments in Brisbane. Let us know your favourite - we are all ears!

The Lido Cafe/Restaurant, 120 Racecourse Road, is a lively, cosy Art Deco restaurant, serving a range of interesting dishes. A varied programme of live jazz from talented Brisbane musicians on Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays adds warmth and colour to the relaxed ambience. On First Friday of each month see Carole Marco (vocals) and Rick Best (keys) perform smooth jazz standards and other great tunes - next one is 4th,

Just noticed this, better late than never. As a musician I play at two venues which should definitely be on your list.
Garuva Hidden Tranquility Restaurant in Brunswick St is like nowhere else. Not even a sign out the front, just a black door. They obviously rely on word of mouth, but always busy.
Jazz Cat Restaurant in Paddington. Nice little venue with a grand piano, and live music on weekends.
I'm sure I can suggest more if you're still interested. (Richard)
