Live music is an integral part of Brisbane's night scene, but what if your tastes don't conform to the plethora of guitar heavy rock and indie acts out there? Perhaps jazz is your thing, or maybe it's global music. Whatever the case, the Queensland Performing Arts Complex has you sorted.
Following the runaway success of the Green Jam Sessions, QPAC and students from the Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium will deliver a free line-up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, at the Melbourne Street Green at South Bank.
The Original Green Jam Sessions kick off the weekend every Friday night. Experience smooth jazz and groovy lounge musicians while enjoying a barbeque and an ice cold beer.
Sunset Sessions, from 5.00pm until 9.00pm on Saturday evenings, is a family friendly mix of country, folk, blues and storytelling. Get there early to get a seat, or bring your own.
And on Sunday afternoons, from 2.00pm until 5.00pm, the Global Groove session brings together traditional and contemporary music from around the world.
This summer, the place to be is outdoors at the Melbourne Street Green music cafe, enjoying some funky music and a cool beverage.
