Food, wine, sport, arts, crafts & entertainment for all ages
Long weekends are always a good time to get out of the city and a road trip is even better if there's a special event to enjoy. The Live Lighter Pinjarra Festival on 31 May and 1 June offers the perfect family outing, providing plenty of activities and entertainment in a historic setting less than an hour's drive from Perth.
The Edenvale Heritage Precinct and the main streets of Pinjarra will come alive with music, market stalls, arts and crafts, sideshows plus a variety of other amusements for all ages to enjoy.
For the mechanically minded the Machinery Museum will be open with equipment running and vintage car displays to inspect. Nearby at Murray Arts and Crafts visitors can watch quilting demonstrations and glassblowing. The Tasting Shed offers local produce samples and wine tasting while the Lifestyle Pavilion hosts health, beauty and wellbeing products and demonstrations.
Two stages will have non-stop music from award winning singer/song writer Jonny Taylor, Rob Walker and popular local artists the John Read Band and Ali Hill plus many others.
Children can enjoy face painting, circus activities, pony rides and more. There's even a special children's stage with magic shows and faerie visits.
Pinjarra is easily reached via the Kwinana Freeway. There are also free shuttle buses to the Festival from the Mandurah Train Station.
The 2014 Live Lighter Pinjarra Festival is proudly supported by Healthway, Bendigo Bank, Cleanaway, Austin Lakes, Alcoa of Australia, WIN Network and Pinjarra Murray Times.
