Live Life Get Active was launched by Jane Flemming, Australian Olympic track and field athlete, and her business partner, Amanda King. Their aim is to have a fitter, healthier and happier Australia. They wanted to remove financial barriers making it a free activity so that as many people can participate.
Live Life Get Active sessions are run Monday to Friday, often at 9.30am but some venues offer earlier times. Pyrmont has 6.30am classes at Pirrama Park. Miranda and Putney have classes at 6.30am as well as 9.30am. The Domain sessions are conducted during lunch-times for City workers to attend. Some other locations include:
Alexandria Bankstown Blacktown Bossley Park Botany
Campbelltown Cronulla Ermington
Haymarket, Belmore Park
Click here for further details about the venue closest to you. Some classes have a break during school holidays, others run during school vacation. There are also two venues on the Central Coast and another at Richmond, plus venues in other regions of New South Wales.
I recently attended the Yoga class at the local park. It was early morning so there were not many people in the park and it was lovely with the blue sky above, feeling the cool breeze while doing stretches on my yoga mat. The instructor was knowledgeable and friendly and adapted some of the routines for the newbies (yes, me).
To register and book in for the classes, click this link to go to their website. Once a participant has registered, an email is sent two days later with a free nutritional plan designed by nutritionist, Dr. Joanna McMillan. Click here for further details.
Classes are for people 18 years or older but if you have a baby or young child, Live Life Get Active request that another adult supervises them. Another alternative is to form groups with other mums and get a babysitter. With 30 locations in Sydney, there will be a class near you.
