Under 18's can mosh happily at this punk metal festival
Live it up festival 2014 brisbane

There are not many punk metal music festivals for the youth of Brisbane, but the Live it Up Festival certainly fits the bill. Designed specifically with teenagers in mind, you must be under 18 to get into this Festival.

Popular Byron Bay group Parkway Drive headline the Festival, supported by Violent Soho, indie band The Jungle Giants, Allday, hardcore metal group In Hearts Wake, The Creases and Lunatics on Pogosticks.

There are a lot of music festivals around, such as Bluesfest, Caloundra Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach and the new Big Pineapple Music Festival. All of them are mainstream blues, rock or alternative. While punk or metal festivals such as Soundwave, tend to be too aggressive for teenagers still learning how to mosh and mix in the crowd.

The Live It Up Festival lets teenagers go hard to their favourite bands in the safety of a restricted environment. School ID or government issued photo ID is required for entry with a ticket.

The Festival is in the RNA Marquee, RNA Grounds, Bowen Hills and starts at 4pm and finishes at 9pm on 21st June. Doors open at 3.30pm.

Tickets are $50 available online.

Check out the Festival's Facebook page for stage times, latest news and updates.

For any kids out there wishing to make a bit of extra cash, the event organisers offer the chance to be a promoter. The Festival website has the application form and details.

Band merchandise, food and drink are available for purchase at the event, and cloak room/lockers are on site for use at a fee.

This is a drug, smoke and alcohol free event.

For details on how to get there and public transport options, see the official website page.
