Life's Great when you've got Health on your Plate - Image: Elaine de Wet
The name of this little Cafe truly intrigued me - 'Live' opposed to 'not alive'? Hence, one can understand why my curiosity got the better of me and this definitely had to be our 'stop' for lunch.

Unusual Exterior - Image: Elaine de Wet
Positioned on the Maleny-Montville Road in Maleny, in a very artistic-looking building you'll find Live Foods Cafe - one can't really miss it, with a huge Harp (another 'BIG' thing Queensland can lay claim to?) - at the front entrance. And, how excited was I, to discover that this little gem was very much a-Live and well, and a bustling little Cafe to boot. I'm still undecided as to whether the patrons were local or visitors, but we were very pleasantly surprised to find very colourful, vibrantly decorated, indoor and outdoor seating options.

Bustling Live Foods Cafe - Image: Elaine de Wet
Live Foods Cafe offers plant-based whole foods that are one hundred per cent gluten-free, dairy-free and GMO-free; all the delightful offerings are made fresh daily, using local seasonal, organic and spray free produce wherever possible. They truly believe in 'being kind to our planet' and with this mantra in mind, all the organic waste from Live Foods Cafe is donated to a local animal sanctuary and they keep the use of plastic bags and containers to a minimum, even requesting that you bring in your own containers for takeaway food or drink.

Our Raw Nachos Lunch - Image: Elaine de Wet
With a varied mouth-watering menu, offering Lentil and Coconut Dahl; Roast Vegetable and Eggplant Tart; a Duo or Trio of Salads, just to mention a few, decision-making is not the easiest, but our eventual choice of sharing the Raw Nachos, on a scale of one to ten, was definitely a ten. This totally delectable dish was masterfully presented and made up of raw fennel and spice crackers served with salsa, guacamole and dairy free sour cream, a truly tantalising experience and well worth a return visit.

Perhaps next time I'll attempt something from their Raw Cake selection - have a look at their
website - or perhaps a Gift Voucher for a friend, ensuring that we spread the love of what a great little find Live Foods Cafe really is!

PS I actually think that the 'Big Harp' is part of the Art Gallery, but it's still a good landmark for you to look out for when visiting Live Foods Cafe
