Do you want to help raise awareness about extreme poverty and challenge yourself at the same time?

It's not too late to do Live Below the Line!

Live Below the Line is an Oaktree Foundation campaign designed to raise awareness and much needed funds for education in countries stricken by poverty.

The idea is to live off $2 a day for five days. Which is considered the poverty line.

After doing this challenge myself, I would definitely recommend it. Sure it was hard and the temptations were so difficult to resist, but when I woke up on that Saturday morning after finishing my five days I was ecstatic. Not only had I tested my boundaries when it came to food, but I had also raised over $400 for this much needed cause. All of this was achieved by posting my journey on Facebook and striking up conversations with people.

Doing good for other people certainly does make your day a little bit brighter.

The money raised from this campaign goes towards providing education and training in countries such as Cambodia and Papua New Guinea. Oaktree Foundation believes that the best way to help people escape the poverty cycle is to educate them.

Being a university student I found this issue very close to my heart. I believe that everyone should be allowed an education.

Although I have finished my challenge donations are open all the way up until June 30 giving you plenty of time to take the challenge and make a difference.
