This quant little cafe in the heart of Darlinghurst has an amazing vibe, unique ambiance and a menu to match!

Smoked Salmon with Poached Eggs on Sourdough
I was originally lured into the cafe one day when I was walking past and saw a breakfast bun special with pork belly on it! I could not think of anything better thank pork belly, apple slaw and poached eggs for breakfast. On entering the cafe I was greeted by the friendly proprietor (Myles - a lovely gent with an Ocker Aussie accent!). The next time I visited he remembered my name and my coffee and from there my love affair with Little Zara was sparked.
On a side note - It really doesn't take a lot to run a cafe business well, be friendly and polite to customers, remember their coffee orders and don't (as seems to be the trend in so many hipster cafes) treat people as an inconvenience, you're in hospitality, be hospitable. Enough of other cafe's shortcomings, Little Zara nails this formula! They change their breakfast bun daily - usually vegetarian (and still do a traditional B&E Roll), and do a $10 breaky bun or B&E roll and a coffee which is good for the hip pocket.

French Toast with Poached Pear, Ricotta, Sunflower Seeds and a Drizzle of Honey
They have a small but well thought out menu, which is good if you are like me and don't like too many choices. Having worked in a kitchen I can appreciate it's easier to do fewer things and perfect them. For breakfast my choice would either be the Big Breakfast, complete with pork and fennel sausages or the breaky bun.

Toast with Roast Tomatoes, Sheep Feta and a Drizzle of Pesto
For lunch, they have sandwiches which are made fresh every morning and usually have a pork belly option if you are like me and like to eat on the run, they can even do it with a side salad if you want to feel healthy whilst enjoying your delicious porky goodness. If you prefer to sit down and eat, there salads are substantial but I can't go past a good burger and this one is massive and delicious!

Aforementioned Burger
There coffee is a Central American Blend of mainly Guatemalan with notes of chocolate in cheek and and toffee, well extracted and with beautifully spun milk.

Good Coffee Art
All in all Little Zara is a hidden gem in the heart of Darlinghurst with friendly staff, great food and coffee, a great find!
