Little Z at 73 Patterson Road, Bentleigh is the love child spawned from the Love Story of Mr & Mrs P in Brighton. Georgia and Greg, owners of Mr & Mrs P , which is who they are, have a popular restaurant in the heart of Brighton. With live tunes on Fridays and Sundays, and Bottomless Saturdays from 2-4pm, it's a hotspot of cuisine, cocktails and events. Mr & Mrs P partnered with Executive Chef Matthew Butcher and created a delicious grazing menu.

Launching in the last week of October 2022, Little Z is named after Georgia and Greg's first son, three year old Zayn . Little Z is a collaboration and co-owned by James and Kalinda who are the other two business partners in this new venture that's near on three weeks old. Long-standing lovers of all things food, coffee and wine, they're getting back to their daytime roots to bring something special to the street. Paired with the ethos of good service and a passion for people and bringing smiles to faces on a daily basis, they have a habit of making customers their friends, and being part of the community for many years to come. Be sure to support your local small businesses and pay them a visit.

The Captain of Little Z is Kalinda, who is no stranger to Bentleigh, and is coming to you with a passion for coffee and a Bachelor of Food & Nutrition. What to expect? There's seating inside and out, but the focus of Little Z is lots of grab 'n' go breakfast and lunch options. The coffee is delicious, then there are toasties, salads and take-away 'deli-style/mini-grocer' offerings from local suppliers. Little Z's focus is to share the love and support the smaller local businesses by also offering their products at the cafe. Food will be fresh, using quality products, and local ingredients, with something for everyone.

Keep watching and following Little Z on social media because down the track they'd love to expand into take-home ready meals, local wines and boutique take home cocktails. If you think you may like a mini wine bar in the evenings - this could be on the cards too. The breakfast menu is on its way and Uber Eats part of the plan. There's a lot of heart and soul being poured into this little space, hence it would be no surprise if you made it your new favourite local. The coffee by Clark St Coffee is fabulous, and available for retail purchase too at Little Z.

With vegan options you could try out the vegan cheese, pumpkin, caramelised onion and BBQ sauce toastie. Bear with these newbies as they continue to add more items to their menu and offerings. They're working on a liquor license behind the scenes, so there may well be some vino and cheeseboards on offer just around the corner. You can be assured Little Z's aim is to offer 10/10 service and quality produce and they are always on the ready to listen if you have a complaint, as they work at becoming a staple in your daily grind for years to come. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates, while they continue to work on their website .

I fell in love with the space, the choice of crockery, the rose gold cutlery (smart move to remember the brand in pic above) and the coffee straight away. 'Sip. Snack. Store' on the façade of the building says it all. You can 'Sip' on hot and cold drinks that include the staples like coffee, chai, tea, hot chocolate, iced latte, milkshakes, Little Z juices and so on, and 'Snack' on toasties like the classic croq, spiced chicken, Reuben, mushroom, tuna melt, smashed avo and the likes, plus there are other offerings at the counter that's more grab and go like the pies (chunky steak, shepards, chicken and leek etc), and some on the sweeter side like cinnamon scrolls, muffins and more. Then there's the store, where you can purchase products from your local small businesses under the one roof.

The ambience is great, the staff are friendly, and the service is swift. We were deliciously happy with our salmon bagel and roasted, toasted roll and cheesy croissant; and did I mention (again) the fabulous coffee! Get to know Little Z!
