Are you thinking about going? Your kids will love it!

My daughter and I went to Little Wings Kids Bingo for the first time in the summer school holidays and to be honest, we weren't expecting it to be big. We thought perhaps it would be in a small room with 20 or so kids, but when we arrived we walked into a large auditorium that was full with children and parents! We spoke to the bingo caller at the front desk and she told us that it was always this popular, in every school holidays throughout the year. Feeling like we had stumbled upon something special, we took our seats and waited for the fun to begin...

On our visit, each child received a small Little Wings Bingo Book and a texta, to cross off the numbers as they were called. When everyone was seated, the bingo caller started calling out the numbers but be warned - she is quick! It really is a two-person activity to do with your child, so you can both quickly run your eyes over the numbers before the next one is called. If you miss a number, it was also displayed on a large TV at one end of the auditorium.

The full auditorium of children were surprisingly silent before eventually someone called out "Bingo!" and good-natured groans were then heard around the room, from those who were getting close. The winner then gets to choose from a whole table of prizes, much to the envy of the other kids on their table.

The bingo started at 10am and ran for 1.5 hours, with some breaks in between to rest the eyes. When all the games were finished, the staff brought in the food for the kids, which needed to be collected from the front tables. On our visit, the kids were all eager to get their lunch - with most children demolishing everything on their plates!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our experience with Little Wings Kids Bingo at Soldiers Point Bowling Club. It was great value for $10 for all the entertainment, chances to win great prizes and also for her lunch at the end. The kids also enjoyed interacting with others on the table, telling each other how close they were to bingo and making new friends. As soon as it finished my daughter asked when we were going back to play it again.

After your game, why not have lunch for yourself at Taylor's Bistro next door, while the kids have a play with their new friends on the playground outside. They will enjoy stretching their legs and having a play - while you can enjoy a rest and a cuppa!

* Soldiers Point Bowling Club also hosts free Kids Disco's each school holidays - see here for event dates.
