A fairy tale like you've never seen before
Every year at Christmas dozens of celebrities head to the UK to star in the Christmas pantomime shows. These family-oriented productions take folk tales like Jack and the Beanstalk or Cinderella and add comedy, music and dance. Now the Multiple Sclerosis Society of WA is bringing the fun to Perth with a fund-raising pantomime version of Little Red Riding Hood.
Fun for the whole family
Pantomime productions traditionally have someone dressed as an animal, a man in drag, a young boy or girl lead and a lot of slapstick humour. Little Red Riding Hood certainly upholds these conventions with the story of Red meeting the Wolf and his companions Slobber and Drool. Will Red's would-be sweetheart Hugh Jundies save the day?
Pantomime has been popular for hundreds of years
Written and directed by Perth theatre professional Ian Toyne, the production was "created with a firm commitment to entertaining children first and foremost with enough in there to keep the adults entertained at the same time."
The audience is guaranteed lots of fun with sing-a-longs, music and plenty of laughs.
The original fairy tale is re-told with music and comedy
