WeekendNotes writer Elizabeth Quinn shoots the virtual breeze with Trevor Ashley, soon-to-be star of Little Orphan trAshley as Fannie, a 10-year-old inmate of the Sutherland Shire orphanage for talented children run by washed-up boozy matron Miss Trannigan (Rhonda Burchmore). But she is a girl with a terrible secret: she's not yet all woman. To get her long-overdue gender reassignment, she'll need the help of multi-millionaire acclaimed photographer Daddy Warhorse (Gary Sweet) as well as her trusty ex-sniffer dog Bullshit (Rhys Bobridge).

1. You clearly love creating clever titles for your shows. I'm thinking you love wordplay. Do you do cryptic crosswords or play a mean game of Scrabble?

Do you know what? I don't do anything like that at all. I love words however - just not really a games person. Maybe I should start!

2. What can theatre goers expect from your latest extravaganza?

It's an all-singing, all-dancing, hilarious show that's fun for the whole family. Except of course for children - it's strictly adults only. Expect a lot of laughs and pure silliness.

3. What do you love about playing at the Comedy Theatre?

This will actually be my first time at the Comedy. I honestly can't wait... I've spent many a night in the audience, so looking forward to seeing it from the other direction.

4. Tell us about your co-stars Rhonda Burchmore, Gary Sweet and Rhys Bobridge (in the unforgettable role of Bullshit the ex-sniffer dog)?

I have the most perfect and brilliant cast! Honestly, in the first season, all we did was kill ourselves laughing, they're such a joy. Rhonda plays a role like you've never seen her play before, Gary does things onstage you've never seen him do before, and Rhys... well you see more of him than you've ever seen before. He's extremely popular.

5. What do you do in your downtime, if you have any?

I have a bit of downtime, and I mostly like to spend it socialising with my great friends. Fabulous dinners and nights out on the tiles are always on the cards.

6. Why should Melbourne audiences leave their warm lounge rooms on a cold night to come and see you in Little Orphan trAshley?

Because we're much funnier than a heater. Honestly, it just sits there. I dance around dressed up as a ginger ten-year-old. Bet your heater can't do that!

Don't miss your chance to see just how much funnier Little Orphan trAshley is than your average Rinnai. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster for July 4 to 14 at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre.
