Going wherever the wind blows me and enjoying the ride.

Little Lucky Cafe
Welcome to Little Lucky Cafe

Little Lucky looks like the trendy little city mouse that packed its bags and took to the country in search of greener pastures.

Huddled away in the quiet country town of Bacchus Marsh, the brand new café sits proudly near the corner of Grant and Main Street. Baby Black finally has some competition.

You'd almost think you were looking at just another quaint little house if it weren't for the bold red sign sticking out above the white picket fence.

Most true blue Melburnians probably don't even know a town called Bacchus Marsh exists, let alone that more than one trendy café can be found down this way.

Little Lucky Decor

Although this cafe could easily hold its own on the Melbourne cafe scene, it has integrated some of it's country roots into the decor. Wads of chicken wire are swaddled around the kitchen light. In another room a (fake) chicken in cage hangs from roof as a random decorative item. A fireplace in the corner completes the country homestead feeling.

Seems like the country air has done it well. Little Lucky exudes a relaxed and friendly environment where all are welcome. You'd feel just as welcome if you came in your uggies and pjs as you would if you'd donned a ball gown and come in all your finest glory.

If you decide to visit Little Lucky, you can't go past the New York cheese cake which has a perfectly smooth and creamy texture. But with a host of seasonal delights to choose from, it may be hard to decide.

In keeping with the welcoming vibe, a collection of vintage toys and other child friendly objects are scattered throughout the house, much to the joy of little children and the big kids within us all.

Words of Wisdom Wall

My personal favourites were the intricate knitted finger puppets on the table I sat at on my first visit. An owl and a lizard, and a cat and a bat are just a few of the various furry finger friends.

Even my husband squeaked in childish glee when he came across a vintage metal toy truck, which he proceeded to roll about the room, until he caught sight of our waitress waiting to take our order.
