As all coffee-holics tend to, I find myself wandering many miles in search of those bitter and aromatic flavours one can only find from ground beans and hot milk. These coffee adventures are often orgasmic, while some can result in certain cafes/coffee shops being blacklisted from further visits.
I plan to frequent more and more cafes in my search for the perfect flat white, but today's visit was spent in suburban Mount Gravatt at a friendly cafe called Little Green.
Situated amongst the open air shopping centre at 1932-1974 Logan Road, Little Green has prime position; easily located from the carpark in the centre square of the mall. Whilst not overly friendly upon arrival, the youthful staff (who I gather were the owner-operators) we pleasant and helpful.
But down to the real nitty-gritty - the coffee. Neatly presented with Piazza d'Oro branding on the cup, the aroma of the coffee hit me first before I had even raise it to my nose. Fragrant, almost spicy; quite a shock to unsuspecting nasal passages.
The coffee was in no way bland. A heavy, rich body. Bitter, but not so far to be burnt. A delightful few minutes followed where man became on with coffee.
After spooning the remnant froth into my mouth I left with a quick thanks, in the knowledge further visits will be made. A great coffee, the barista knew exactly what she was doing. Well worth a visit.
Three friends visited Little Green Cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were greeted warmly and with a smile and shown to our booked table. We ordered 2 teas to begin with while we chatted and checked out the breakfast menu. The 3 of us decided the poached eggs, avocado and grapefruit sounded yummy so that was the order plus 1 coffee. The coffee was served in a take away cup, why we don't know. Our order arrived and it looked and tasted delicious. Poached Eggs cooked just right. After staying for another coffee (which arrived in a china cup this time) and teas we were ready to head off. We would recommend this cafe for the friendly service and yummy breakfast and we will return.
