The kid-sized, bite-sized festival. Australia's first and only food festival created just for kids! We all want our kids to eat healthy sustaining food. But this festival is about this but has a whole lot more on the menu.

The Little Food Festival is about connecting the dots for kids across the food system - between the food they eat, its supply chain and its relationship to our health and the planet.

Children will plant seedlings, learn about bush food, engage in crafts, prepare nutritious meals, learn about bees and much more best of all for such a healthy day's outing the festival is free.

The Little Food Festival focuses on education, exploration, creativity and fun, to help kids re-imagine what the future will look like for them, their families and communities, and the planet.

There are a series of activities for kids at various stations. At the Farm they'll learn more about how food is grown, including about about Sorghum grain growing and hand processing with United African Farmers.

Children can visit the Process, Pack & Move stage, where they can explore the Oz Harvest Van to sit in the driver’s seat and participate in Monash University’s Food Miles activity to see how far their food has travelled.

With Visit The Grocer they will learn how food is good for them. They can enjoy a crafting activity with designer, illustrator and maker, Beci Orpin, celebrating their favourite seasonal produce.

Then the fun part The Kitchen to learn how to prepare nutritious and yummy meals! Hands-on activities with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Program on how to grow, harvest and prepare some yummy treats to take home.

At the Table, the focus is on how we eat and share food. Eating with friends and family helps us set healthy habits as we grow. Kids will create play dough food memories with Ree Peric.

There will also be food from a range of delicious food trucks, including Cornutopia, Kimu Korean, The Bao Project, Corner Store Network and Crepes for Change.

At the Reduce & Reuse zone, kids can join in a recycling relay race using everyday household items. Little Food Festival will be a low-waste event.

All food vendors will be serving up their delicious food on the reusable Green My Plate plates and bowls which you then simply place into the pink bins within the venue. The team from Green My Plate will be continuously collecting the reusable plates and co to wash and recirculate, leaving a cleaner footprint, and diverting single-use food packaging from landfill.

At the Reflection Zone, kids can listen to story time with Melbourne Museum and Melbourne Library Services on Kip&Co cushions, or chill out and reflect on the learnings of the food journey with Monash Uni.

The Little Food Festival is presented by founding partners Sandro Demaio Foundation, Monash University and Fed Square, and event partners City of Melbourne and AIA.
