The City of Greater Dandenong's activities for kids are running right through the holidays with the grand finale - the Little Day Out: Children's Festival - being held on Sunday 1st October 2017 in the Noble Park Ross Reserve from 11am to 4pm. This FREE community event is an opportunity to participate in some games and sporting fun, get hands-on in one of the workshops, enjoy live entertainment, carnival rides, animal handling and plenty more.
Starting at 11am, everyone is invited. This year's theme is the amazing animal kingdom and kids are sure to roar with laughter, sqwark with excitement and purr with contentment by the end and it - and best of all, heaps of activites available on the day will be absolutely FREE.
You can climb aboard a camel and take a ride on one of these majestic ships of the desert* before being lulled into a world of pure imagination with live storytelling. Meet some of the roving characters including Eesha Elephant, Little Pot of Horris and Razor the raptor. How far can your imagination take you? (*Please note: Some rides/activities will require a paid ticket.)
Kids can step into the ring – the circus ring that is – to learn some circus tricks before stepping into another circle – the Dance Circle – and with the help of the Dance Circle crew learn a new song and dance routine. The program includes The Animals of Magical Mountains and the Amazing Drumming Monkeys.
There'll be loads of interactive amusements as well as a selection of free family-friendly activities and workshops including animal themed arts and crafts, and you can try some of the different games and sports on offer – perhaps you'll discover a new talent and join one of the local teams.
