As you walk around the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bay Ridge, you'll come upon many charming retailers, including a sweet shop called, Little Cupcake Bakeshop .



Everything about this place invites a visit—from the striped blue-, white- and greenish-hued awning, to the bright red umbrellas dotting the sidewalk seating, to the pink-and-white logo featuring its namesake attraction, a cupcake.

Step inside and your eyes and palate will dance with delight as you scan the sweets on display. You'll realize that you may have a difficult, but wonderful decision to make, because the venue offers more than just cupcakes.



Among your many choices include mini apple pies, puffed rice treats and whoopie pies. Their cupcake offerings entice with swirls of pastels and bright icing tops and sprinkles, and bear intriguing names, such as Chocolate Cloud and Brooklyn Blackout. With an array of classic flavors, ranging from peanut butter, to strawberry and carrot cupcakes, plus the non-traditional Blue Velvet option, you may have to select two (or maybe, three).





Which of the tasty treats perched atop cake stands with see-through dome tops should you try? Should it be a slice of the angel bread? Or, how about the Nutella, banana and chocolate chip cake?



Perhaps one of their pudding flavors piques your interest.



Pair your baked goodies with one of the specialty coffees, or other hot or cold drinks. What about a scoop or two of their handmade ice cream flavors?



Once you've made your choices, take your delicious items to one of the nearby tables, and enjoy. Sit back, relax and immerse yourself in a seating area where light green, soft yellow and white walls meet with brick, upon which, an oversized mirror, plus framed press articles and Zagat surveys hang. Overhead chandeliers, blackboards with menu items written in colorful chalk and playful accessories complete the cheery setting.
