You can't imagine how excited I was to see a new café open just within walking distance from home. It went straight to the top of my 'must do' list. On the weekend, I enlisted four friends and we headed out to Little Clive for lunch.
Little Clive is located on the corner of Ipswich Road and Clive Street in Annerley. There is plenty of parking available, and a fair amount of indoor and heated outdoor seating.
The trendy café is spacious and the décor is uplifting. Everything from the flowers on each wooden table top, to the large round glass window that invites the sun in, had me in a great mood.
I know you want to hear about the menu and I will get to that but first I want, nay,
need to make mention of the service.
What a difference a smile and a great attitude make. The staff at Little Clive are not only refreshingly professional, but they are also polite and friendly.
They truly seem to want to make sure that nothing ruins your eating experience. 'You didn't like the way your maple bacon was cooked? Thank you for letting us know, and please allow us to do better.'
I can assure you they did do better, not only did I get a new side of 'Mmmm YES!'-worthy maple bacon, but it was delivered in such a way that I didn't feel failed in the slightest.
The menu has something for everyone. They have kept in mind the beautiful diversity of the Annerley area by providing Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Paleo options.

Stand out dishes for me, because yes I have been back for more, are the Blueberry buttermilk pancakes with maple bacon and vanilla ice cream, and the Grilled halloumi with kale, tomatoes and pistachio on sourdough.
Other musts are The Little Clive breakfast board of poached eggs on sourdough, chorizo, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes, and the Twice cooked pork belly burger with 'slaw and sour cream mayo.

Along with a selection of deserts and focaccias, they serve awarding-winning, Brisbane-based Vivo Coffee that sure hits the spot.
