A little play centre for the little members of your family
Little Champs Playhouse in Bibra Lake certainly isn't fancy, but with a seemingly unlimited amount of toys to play with, no toddler is going to care about the interior.
This little play centre is well and truly tucked away in the Stock Road Market complex, just off Port Kembla Drive, and seriously, if you're not looking for it, you'll miss it. The exterior is in desperate need of an update, but once inside, it's an absolute haven for young children.
There are literally toys EVERYWHERE. Unlike most play centres, which cater for kids up to around 12, Little Champs caters for babies and kids aged up to five only, so toddlers can have a good play with lots of age appropriate toys.
My first thought when we walked in was that someone had unloaded a container full of toys into the middle of the floor. It's absolutely heaving with little cars, dolls, trucks and things to climb on. If there's one thing I've learned about children, it's that they LOVE playing with toys that aren't theirs, so this is a perfect space for that.
There's a little cubby house, a ball pit and an accompanying plastic dingy also filled with plastic balls and stuffed animals. The centre has background music including the Wiggles and nursery rhymes, so even in the event they get bored of the toys, there's always the music to dance to.
As with all play centres, Little Champs has a small café with tables and chairs. They serve hot drinks, small meals and toddler snacks such as fruit or fairy bread. They don't open to the public on weekends, but you can book the centre for a birthday party on Saturdays and Sundays.
It may be in need of a bit of a makeover and basically looks like a large, converted shed with toys everywhere, but Little Champs means fun for the youngest members of the family without the bigger kids taking over their dedicated space.
