Located in Kingston's Green Square, this pub is open 7 days from 11am until late. We stumbled across Little Brooklyn by chance when looking for a venue for a weekday lunch recently.
Outside in the square there are tables and chairs if you want to catch some Canberra sun and it looks like it would be a lovely spot for a casual drink with friends on the weekend. However for our lunch we chose to sit inside.
As the name suggests Little Brooklyn takes its inspiration from a New York style pub. There are comfortable booth seats, vintage play bills decorating the walls, big screen TV's for sports enthusiasts and a small stage for live music.
The booth seating indoors reflects the casual vibe of this venue
As it was a Monday at lunch time the venue was pretty quiet which suited us well. But I can imagine this venue being popular and loud of an evening and on weekends.
The menu includes the usual pub fare of schnitzels, steak and burgers, but also includes New York inspired dishes such as ribs, hot dogs, tacos and nachos. We took advantage of the $15 Burger and drink special by ordering the Fried Chicken Burger with Bacon, Slaw and Fries. We also decided to try the Nachos served with jalapeño salsa, avocado, sweet potato and queso fresco (Mexican cheese).
Pub dishes and New York classics feature on the menu
We found the service to be quick and friendly and we were not disappointed with our meals. The beef nachos were tasty and I loved the addition of the sweet potato chips which were crunchy and delicious.
