I've travelled across the world and lived in several countries soaking up cultures, experiencing fine cuisine and having lots of fun at all the major tourist attractions. Now I seek out super Sunday activities and restaurants for my family!
We wake up early every day so when it comes to the weekend, "sleeping in" is usually until 7am – which makes for perfect timing to shower and get to Little Bird Café for gorgeous food. By gorgeous, I mean aesthetically pleasing as well as a party for the palate! If it's lovely weather, grab yourself a seat outside. The indoor seating is equally appealing with some big comfy chairs and sofas mixed in. The staff is incredibly friendly and that big complimentary pitcher of fruit-filled water is something to look forward to.
Health-conscious people looked like they had walked or jogged there when the restaurant opened early Saturday morning. We drove and there's great parking at that time of day. Whether you're looking to really treat yourself with a juicy burger and cake, or want to go healthy with a "Green brekky bowl" and fresh kombucha – it looks like there's enough on the menu to please everyone.
I'd read about the "Banana and coconut buckwheat pancake" here and it's definitely a highlight with the stunning colourful presentation, as are all the fresh cakes and treats on display at the front. I found the "Bird Benedict" (you can ask for it without bacon if you are a vegetarian) to be equally lovely to look at and simply divine to taste. There's a great selection of burgers for lunch and the menu is filled with creative smoothies, juices, coffee and other drinks. Even if you don't eat a meal here, do yourself a favour and visit Little Bird Café for the breathtaking cakes!
