"Oh let's have one more," said the both of us, falling comfortably back into our seats at Little Big Sugar Salt Café.
And before we knew it, a second cappuccino was swiftly on its way.

It's rare that I stay for an extended session in any cafe.
Even at some of my favourite places, it's less a of a relaxing brunch and more a 'speed feed' sort of affair.

I'm not even sure when I started rushing off after meals.
I used to stay and read a novel, order a second coffee… lunch.

Perhaps the flurried buzz of all the other patrons is catching. The impatient glares from trendy lines trailing far out the door.
I've diligently scoffed my crumpet and inhaled my coffee more than once when I sense I've stayed too long.

Yet when I tumbled into Little Big Sugar Salt Café, for once I felt no rush. The tunes were right, the mood was set and whispers of summer were floating in on the breeze through the open windows.

And so we relaxed (for once) instead of scooting off straight away.
A similar attention to detail and creativity is taken in the kitchen where the chef whips up surprising new combinations of foodie fast favourites.

"Trust the chef," they said. So I did.

Oh, it was easy with the little Persian tea cake topped with yoghurt that was advertising itself shamelessly in the centre glass cabinet. But when I ordered sticky kumera with cashew cream and kimchi I wasn't disappointed either.

Innovative and fresh, with just a dash of madness in the mix.
