Australian Women of Influence in portraits
This December, Lisa Wilkinson proudly supported by Canon Australia, presents her first photographic exhibition comprising powerful portraits of inspiring Australian women. Wilkinson's photographs will be displayed from the 9th to the 22nd of December at Maud Creative in Newstead. It is an open invitation to all with free admission into the event.
The exhibition will give you a creative insight into the mind of the news reporter star, Lisa Wilkinson, and you can learn the stories and triumphs of 10 incredibly inspiring women as chosen by Lisa. Through the power of photography, you will be able to see the true beauty, resilience and strength of Australian women such as Turia Pritt (pictured above), Gretel Packer and eight other women who have inspired both Wilkinson and modern Australia.
The exhibition as stated is free admission and open to the public from the 9th. Wilkinson is hoping to encourage as many to get involved in the event as,"I (Wilkinson) know that their unique stories will speak to all Australians, no matter their circumstances". It will be an incredible couple of weeks to shine a light on the incredible Australian women that we may not all be too familiar with their stories, triumphs and tragedies.
I was always raised on the foundation that I should aspire to bear strong children as I have been raised by a strong woman, and to be resilient myself. This exhibition is a hundred percent that; girl power, it would make a perfect girls day out that will leave you feeling empowered by these inspiring women.
The exhibition will be held at Maud Creative on 6 Maud Street in Newstead, Brisbane. The only days it will not be running is from Sunday through to Tuesday. However you have a choice of either Wednesday's to Friday's from 4pm to 7pm. Or on Saturdays from 11am until 4pm.
