Entertainment and lots of cars to view
This fun family day out in the sweet little Adelaide hills town of Gumeracha is on again this year. It grows bigger and better every year.

Five years ago this event began as a fundraising effort by Lions Gumeracha, with 25 car entrants and 200 spectators. In 2014 the Shannon's Memorial Cruise joined in with the event, attracting even more people. A cruise is where all the car entries for the day do a drive around the streets for everyone to see them in action. You can also view the cars when they park on the oval. This year, the numbers will be around 300 cars and about 5000 spectators. This is mainly due to extra support from about 12 local car clubs. You will see many vintage and classic cars, hot rods and some unusual vehicles. Everyone puts special effort into polishing up their vehicles so they look their best on the day and for the prizes.

There will be lots of entertainment on the day. Stroll around and chat to the owners of the cars and pick your favourites. There will be lots of entertainment for the kids. A band will be playing and also a DJ spinning some cool music. A ladies fashion parade will be an ideal time to sit down and take a break. Plenty of food and drinks for sale including a barbeque and a coffee machine stall.
The Lions Gumeracha Show & Shine is a fundraising event that helps children from defence force families in need of medical assistance. Other charities supported by this event are the Lions Skin Cancer Mobile Screening unit, The View Club and The Smith Family. So enjoy a budget friendly great family day out knowing your money is helping others.
