Discover a new chocolate experience at the Lindt Cafe.

After being a dedicated fan of the Belgian chocolate producers, imagine my delight at stumbling across their cafe when visiting Melbourne recently.


The aroma of chocolate fills the air as you step into the iconic chocolate shop, and the cafe offers a delightful selection of macarons, desserts and ice-creams. The relaxing atmosphere is perfect for an afternoon coffee break or catch-up with friends.

While at the Lindt cafe, I sampled a slice of the Opera with its layers of dark chocolate ganache, cream and almond sponge with a hint of coffee, it was heavenly. Also available is a range of other cakes (which can be ordered for private events or birthdays) such as white chocolate framboise, Lindt profiteroles and chocolate hazelnut gateau to name a few, all made with the finest Belgian chocolate.

Also on offer is a range of the ever popular macarons and I could not help taking a dozen home with me, some of the flavours on offer include salt caramel, apple cinnamon, champagne, pistachio and the list goes on. The almond meringue just melts in your mouth as a macaron should.


The hot chocolate I indulged in was also one of the best I have ever tasted, also there is your usual range of lattes, cappuccinos, short blacks as well. Worth a mention is the café specialty - the Lindt waffle served with vanilla and white chocolate ice cream.

Furthermore, grab a box of the Connoisseur Collection chocolates for the perfect gift for your friend or significant other. Treat yourself to a dark chocolate roche or my personal favourite, a mint truffle. The Marc de Champagne truffle is filled with champagne cognac surrounded by Lindt milk chocolate, while the Wimbledon which is strawberry and white chocolate ganache covered in milk chocolate. Also the store offers chocolate creation classes at the Martin Place store in Sydney and the Chapel street store in Melbourne.
