I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.

Word of caution: You may not be able to resist after reading
When you think Lindt, the image of snow-clad Swiss Alps comes to mind. In other words, Lindt is synonymous to beauty, pleasure and contentment! To experience something of this beauty and contentment, you may not have to venture further than the Lindt Cafe at Southgate, nestled in a cosy central spot at one end of the Food Court. If you have a sweet tooth, you must pay a visit indeed, after which you will no doubt agree that visiting Lindt is nothing short of beautiful, and one leaves with feelings of deep contentment and satisfaction, with waves of pleasure rippling through your entire being.

Lindt Chocolatier in Southgate

Allow me to share my own experience there. After a long day of walking through the streets of Melbourne City with my family, when our legs could carry us no further, we decided it was time to take a break and warm ourselves up with some hot coffee. Lo and behold! We saw Lindt Cafe that looked so tantalisingly fancy and inviting, we could just not resist. We ordered hot chocolate and a sampler platter of desserts. A mere 5 minutes had passed, and our hot chocolate was presented to us in a serving dish with dark chocolate in a separate container, and a warm jug of milk (which could have been a bit hotter) to be mixed together in a cup according to your own taste for how chocolaty you wanted your drink to be.

Mouth-wateringly delicious hot chocolate

As we were savouring our divine hot chocolate, along came the dessert platter, straight from Paradise, or so it seemed. Small morsels of heavenly desserts looked so exquisite, we were almost afraid to touch them so as not to destroy their beauty.

Most of the desserts contained nuts, so if you have any allergy issues, it would be best to talk to the friendly staff before placing an order. After having our fill at a very leisurely pace, we took a leisurely stroll around the store to browse through their selection of chocolates. There were neatly stacked displays of chocolate boxes and baskets, which could make a great gift.

Their selection of pastries along with ice-creams are absolutely exquisite. The pastries come in different flavours, shapes and aromas. Each one beautifully 'handcrafted', they appear as "haute couture" of the desserts world.

Their take-away hot beverages menu is also very inviting, especially on a cold & chilly wintry evening. Pick up a coffee while strolling on Southbank.

There are four locations in Melbourne for your convenience. One or two visits to the store will not do justice to the products Lindt has to offer, so the only way to relish the delicacies is to keep going back for more ... and more (unless you travel to Switzerland frequently!). Happy Lindt-ing.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Lindt at Southbank will be closing soon?
