Wedged into that corner between Maroondah Highway and the Ringwood Bypass is Lindos Restaurant, this Mediterranean inspired restaurant is a favourite amongst the families of Ringwood and with good reason. It boasts quality food for a reasonable price, and gives you a nice place to be in while you eat it.
Inside you are treated to a modern but surprisingly warm environment. There are plenty of soft lights and warm colours about to create a relaxed mood. At night you can even be treated to a nice view over Ringwood Lake, although it would be a lot nicer without the highway getting in the way. On particularly busy nights, however, the calm atmosphere can get lost in the noise of the patrons.
One of the great strengths of Lindos' menu is its variety. It advertises itself as Mediterranean but you can order from a big selection of gourmet pizzas, pastas, tapas, and seafood. Couple that with the traditional Greek offerings you would expect from the restaurant and this adds up to be a very versatile menu.
The Moroccan chicken is a personal favourite. Plenty of rice, plenty of chicken and all pulled together beautifully with a fiery blend of herbs and spices. I find it difficult to ever finish this meal but I always find myself trying my hardest to do so. That's one thing you'll notice with the meals here, you get more than enough from them.
The lemon pepper calamari is another meal that I recommend. It's not often you find a restaurant this affordable that does genuinely good calamari. The batter is thin but has a satisfyingly light crunch about it and the calamari itself almost melts in your mouth. Rounded off with some crisp chips and a crunchy salad, it is a great meal for only $25.
A wide enough selection to satisfy everybody in the family, and enough class to let you bring a date, are just a couple of benefits of this restaurant. This place has been running for a few years now and after you have been you'll be able to tell why. Definitely worth dining at least once.
