Lindblom Park - Pooraka

Lindblom Park is a shady, dog-friendly huge open space in central Pooraka. It features sports ovals, two playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic facilities and is divided by Dry Creek. The paths are compressed stone but not always super-friendly to wheelchairs.

Pooraka was once a reasonably isolated community north of Adelaide and was very close-knit. The community established many of their own community sporting facilities in the area of what is now known as Lindblom Park. It's named after Joe Lindblom, a long time resident of the area and once the Mayor of Salisbury Council.

The playground facilities are excellent, both playgrounds have updated and safe equipment, providing plenty of variety. There's also tennis courts and half court basketball.

The stand-out piece of equipment at Lindblom Park is the incredibly long flying fox. Kids and adults will love the experience of zipping along a line much longer than the average anywhere we've seen.

Shelter and amenity are provided in the form of sheltered tables and chairs and although there are toilets, they appeared locked on our visit. Bring your own BBQ if you are planning to cook; we couldn't find any on site.

If you're after something unusual in a playground, then Lindblom Park is worth a visit. Lindblom Park is accessed from Albert Street and McCarthy Court, from Pratt Avenue or Quinlivan Road.
