Last November I visited New York for two weeks and loved every minute of my time there. One of the highlights of my holiday was attending the ballet at the Lincoln Center. My attendance was on a night with a beautiful sunset. I was able to take some stunning photos of The Lincoln Center, basking in the colours of the sunset.



The Lincoln Center is a class act and is the center f the performing arts in New York. Home of the Metropolitan Opera, The New York Ballet, The Philharmonic Orchestra and other performing arts.

Their misson is to entertain and enrich the global community of art.
The Lincoln Center is a 16.3 acre complex of buildings in the Lincoln Square neighbourhood of Manhattan.



I live in Sydney, Australia and am a member of The Friends of the Australian Ballet here. I attended a party in Sydney thrown by The Friends of The Ballet for The American Ballet Theatre when they were here to promote their performance of Swan Lake.

I met some of the dancers on this occasion and shared some interesting conversation about ballet. So I was delighted to see some of the dancers in a performance at the Lincoln Center in
October last year.



In Sydney I attend the ballet at the iconic Opera House that sits on our beautiful harbour. This also is a beautiful venue with one of the best back drops in the world. The Lincoln Center is to New Yorkers what The Opera House is to the people of Sydney.





My excitement of attending the ballet at the Lincoln Center was bordering on ecstatic. So many people attended the performance, most were dressed formally for the occasion. I have a rich history of dance which runs through my family.I did ballet for twelve years and in my eyes it is poetry in motion.

This performance was stunning the dancers' fluid movements had perfect timing and grace.





This is a beautiful venue and a fabulous place for the residents of New York to enjoy the arts. As a visitor who enjoyed my evening there, I wanted to express my delight of the Lincoln Center and show it in pictures. I hope I have captured some of its magic as I said earlier, it is truly a class act.
