Lime Cafe in Lennox Head was the last stop before my husband and I headed back to Brisbane on our weekend getaway to Ballina and it certainly was the perfect choice.
Lennox Head is a beautiful seaside village on the north coast of New South Wales between Byron Bay and Ballina. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops as well as excellent spots for swimming, fishing and surfing here. I will definitely stop by next time I'm passing through to take advantage of this gorgeous village.
Located on the main street of Lennox Head, Lime Cafe was bustling at 10am with people dropping in for takeaway coffees, breakfast dates and family breakfasts. This cosy cafe offered indoor and outdoor seating and we sat ourselves inside as the outdoor tables were a bit too close for my liking. I was a little surprised that this place didn't have table service, but we weren't really phased by it.
Lime's menu consisted of the usual breakfast items and nothing jumped out at me apart from the chicken and pumpkin pesto salad, which was on their lunch menu. I'd been enjoying breakfast salads of late so that was what I went with and my husband the eggs benedict.
Coffees came pretty promptly and they were just delicious. So we sipped on our coffees reminiscing our favourite moments on the weekend as we patiently waited for the food to arrive. It was probably more than half an hour before the food arrived and we salivated briefly before eagerly digging in. My salad was just delightful. (I did try to duplicate it at home, but it just wasn't the same). They were generous with the pesto which made the salad delectably flavoursome. The eggs benedict was yummy too. Eggs were poached to perfection, hollandaise sauce was rich, buttery and a bit tangy, and everything else on the plate was scrumptious.
The wait was worth it. With friendly staff, great coffee, big servings and awesome food, you couldn't really ask for more. We walked along the beach afterwards fat and happy with not a worry in the world. This is what a good meal does to us.
So if you're ever around the area, drop by Lime Cafe for a bite and you'll be fat and happy too.
