If you loved the Breathe In and Bleat Out Meditation with Baby Goats and Lambs, the relaxation technique that guaranteed an overload of cuteness, fun and distraction, a Limber Up with Llamas yoga session could be the next awesome aspiration on your road to relaxation and stretching. As you can well imagine, a yoga session with llamas would be ever so slightly different to the baby goats and lambs' workshops … and here's why -
first up, llamas are a whole lot bigger than the baby kids from previous workshops, so instead of having them frolic joyously all over students, the llamas will be walked, on leads, between the yoga mats during the class, enabling students to hand feed them;
secondly, the class sizes will be limited to twenty-five participants, ensuring your encounter with the llamas is an up close and personal one; and
thirdly, because the llamas are fully grown, they also have full control of their bladders ... which means the trackies can be left at home and the luxe activewear would be totally appropriate! Yah, for selfies!
Llamas are apparently very smart, like Einstein smart! Ok, slight llama-xaggeration there, but perhaps as smart as one of your high school teachers smart. Anyway, according to those in the know, this combined intelligence plus their natural gentleness makes llamas the perfect companions. Llamas are also social creatures, with an innocent curiosity, so will be keen to get to know you, without being too intrusive.
Animal therapy has been used for more than twenty years to boost the morale and spirits of patients in hospitals via the Stanford PAWS program. Research has determined that animal therapy has been found to reduce cortisol in children with Autism by up to 48%, as well as helping to relieve symptoms of PTSD and schizophrenia.
Who me? Couldn't be ...

Ottaba Llama Walks is dedicated to nurturing happy and healthy llamas with a view to enhancing community spirit, by bringing animal therapy into the community.

The key with Limber up with Llamas is to have fun, with lots of laughter thrown in, as students negotiate with the llamas to actually complete the yoga session. Instead of being self-critical with regards sitting perfectly still, yogis will learn the art of compassionately observing the surrounding chaos, embracing the moment and accepting that it's not always possible to be perfect all the time.
