The Lilydale show is located at the entrance to the Yarra Valley. The show is held at the Lilydale Recreation Reserve. It is about 45kms from Melbourne and is close to the Lilydale station.
The show is held in the heart of Lilydale. It draws in a lot of tourists from around the Yarra Valley Region and surrounding suburbs. The show offers both a country and city atmosphere.
The Lilydale show has many agricultural and horticultural shows; this is done to show out of towners and those new to the area the rural way of life. Those who help out at the show are made up of mostly locals who volunteer their time; it is a not- for profit- community organisation.
The show offers competitions involving farm animals; go and check out which is the cutest rabbit and best looking horse. You can check out the needlework, photography or craft section also.
There are many competitions that you or your friends and family can participate in. For instance, the personality competition is open for those who are ages 4-25 years old. The winner of the competition wins a great prize which include a 3 months full club membership at Lilydale Squash & Fitness Centre, a colour portrait from Glenn Mandl Photography and several other gifts. You do have to pay a small fee to enter and will have to take part of four tasks.
There will be lots of fun for everyone and lots of family entertainment will be available. You will be able to go on rides, get showbags and see fireworks.There will be lots of activities for the community to enjoy.
