I'm an enthusiastic traveller, writer, adventurer and online journalist who is curious about the world and what happens in it and to it.
I have an eye for the quirky so come with me and we'll see the world through different eyes. Just you and me.
Indooroopilly local, Clairy Laurence, is offering her two day Lil' Babe ceramic bust workshop this August. These workshops book out quickly, often attended by previous patrons who can attest to Clairy's easy, supportive teaching style and how much fun the weekend actually is.
Hosted in her intimate bushland studio, Day 1 of the workshop will see you hand building and doing the basic formwork to construct your figure. Day 2 sees participants refining the form, adding facial and other details and glazing. It is a very relaxed but busy two days.
Attendees are encouraged to express their own style and Clairy's fantasy inspired environment helps get the creative juices flowing. Many participants find there is a touch of unexpected Gothic whimsy and delicacy to their finished products.
Divine lunches and morning teas are provided on both days and this offers an opportunity for social chat and sharing of ideas. Wine is also available but when I attended no one was keen to interrupt their flow of creative juices to imbibe, such was our passion and commitment to the task.
The busts are fired post workshop in Clairy's kiln and are available for pick up, or Australian and international delivery for an additional cost.
The August two day workshop will be held on 17th and 18th August from 10.00am - 4.00pm. The cost is $360pp.
