To be held in Crummunda Park in Wurtulla, all the fun at Lights on the Lake Community Festival kicks off at 4.00pm in the afternoon with live music and entertainment right through to 8.00pm in the evening. Supervised children’s activities, including arts and crafts will be happening between 4.00pm to 6.00pm. Have you ever tried your hand at beating out a rhythm - well, now’s your opportunity, with the free drumming circle, held at every Lights on the Lake Community Festival.

Gather your friends and family together, bring a picnic blanket and hamper to set up on the grassed area to watch the fun on stage or alternatively, keep a lookout towards the Lake, where the festively decorated, brightly lit kayaks and canoes join the water parade from dusk.

Lights on the Lake Community Festival is so popular that every year the individually festooned watercraft entries are spectacular … more colourful, more imaginative and more creative than the year before, transforming the lake into a magnificent kaleidoscope of rainbow colours! So, you can only imagine what 2024 Lights on the Lake will have
‘under the hull’ for us - a fabulous multicoloured rainbow of festivities.

The jolly ol’ guy in red, Santa, everyone’s favourite person from up north, is planning his grand entrance from across the lake around 6’ish, just before the magical parade of kayaks and canoes, festooned with Christmas lights and decorations, commences. I suspect he may be leaving his reindeer at home with Mrs Clause this time around, as they definitely prefer snow to water!
Ho, ho, ho, here's hoping we've all been good boys and girls this year and get to share in Santa's sack full of lollies!

There is no time like the present to start imagining and creating and decorating your watercraft of choice. Registrations are now open for the water parade and may be
done online here, via the Currimundi Catchment website or, alternatively on the day, Sunday 8 December, before 5.30pm.

Besides the excitement of Santa's arrival, what else is there for the children to do? The children get to participate in all the FREE activities including the drumming circle, painting, planting, playing, swimming, singing, dancing, riding bikes, listening to music, paddling boats and jumping to the laser light show. Enough entertainment to ensure all that excess energy gets put to good use.
Lights on the Lake is a family community event that will appeal to all ages and everyone is welcome! The organisers plan to finish up by 8.00pm so families with children won’t be out too late on the Sunday school night.

The possibility of meeting a neighbour or three en route is highly likely as Lights on the Lake provides the perfect event for the community to get out and about and to have an enjoyable afternoon in a stunning part of the world.

It’s as easy as just decorating your kayak or canoe, registering in advance or at the event and bringing your craft along.

No naked flames and no motorised craft will be permitted. Electric motors may be allowed, with certain conditions.

Most important rule of all - HAVE FUN!
